Description
The shaker separator is our most efficient design for chick/egg shell separation. The chicks are gently tipped onto the separator bed by a 6-way tray turner for the semi and fully automatic models and a 2-way turner for the manual model. This turner allows for more consistent and even transfer of the chicks, reducing bunching and piling and allowing for more accurate chick counts. The chicks are separated onto a belt conveyor while the egg shells are shuttled to the end of the bed and into a hopper for disposal. The chicks are passed through a final stage vacuum to remove small egg shell debris. This style of separator uses approximately 25% of the energy of a similar capacity roller style separator, is much smaller and uses considerably less moving parts.
